Secretary’s Minutes
——————————————————————
Ernest , KA1NGG announced that the SARA dues structure will be changing. This is because of increased
expenses. This is to make the dues more even. Our insurance has increased and we have repeater expenses another would be Field Day. These are our major expenses.Proposed Dues will be $20 for all members and family.. $10 for students and members who have moved away and wish to retain membership.
Donations other that dues can also be made. SARA is a tax exempt organization and donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. A more detailed mailing will be sent out in February.
Both of our club repeaters are under used. Ernest made a plea for people to monitor and use our repeaters.
EchioLink as been temporary disabled because of a conflict problem with the controller. The technical committee is working on the problem.
Fred, K1FC talked about having more VE's to help with the testing and how simple it is. We are also planning to give more classes in the future and need volunteers.
SARA is considering scheduling the VE testing for three sessions. In the past year it was four per year, which was a holdover from prior years when we rotated the schedule with two other clubs who have since dropped VE Testing. The schedule for 2008 will be posted on our web site and at the ARRL when it is finalized.
